We spent the day with private guide, Mariko. Her English was wonderful. She had lived and gone to college in the US. We visited the Atomic Museum, Peace park, and Peace dome. Then we took a boat to Miyajima Island . The island was wonderful. Saw a unique massive floating gate (Tori) and the Itsukushima Shrine / which is constructed over water. Great Day. Adapted to what we wanted to do. Massive bargain!!! Thank you Mariko!!!

What makes us different
Plenty of companies will sell you a tour of Japan. We’d rather show you the Japan that most visitors never find.
01
Guides who know the area
Our guides are based in the regions they show you. They know the local spots, the best times to visit, and the stories behind the places — things you won’t find in a guidebook.
02
Trips built around you
Every itinerary is designed around your interests and travel style. No fixed groups, no rushed schedules. We take the time to understand what you’re looking for and plan accordingly.
03
More than the usual highlights
We cover the well-known sights, but we also include the places that don’t make the tourist brochures — neighbourhood restaurants, quiet temples, local experiences that stay with you.

Nana-chan is a wonderfull guide, knows a lot about the Japanese history, culture & allot about the places where we stopped. Connects a lot with everybody who's in the tour. She even gives you information about things what doesn't have anything to do within the tour, but to make you feel welcome and wants to make sure you get the best out of your vacation in Japan. When somebody say's i looking for a tour guide i only got one name NANA-CHAN!
I went on a pub crawl last night in Shinjuku’s Kabukicho area and had an amazing experience. Toshi was extremely knowledgeable about the local nightlife and guided us through a great mix of spots, including authentic izakaya, a fun sake tasting, and finishing off with karaoke. The whole experience was very fun and social. Toshi was an excellent host—friendly, engaging, and very professional throughout the night.
Tamami & Namiki-san both created such a wonderful experience for me. Tamami met us, and guided us through details about zen meditation first and then onto the temple. She is such a warm woman, and you could not ask for a better guide through the experience, creating a warm and friendly environment for us all. Perfect experience as an introduction to zen meditation, and to experience and possibly learn a new technique in life.
This was a one of a kind experience. Andi was a great guide. She gave us a lot of background information about the Geiko and Maiko. Geiko proceeded to sit with us for most of our dinner service while we got to ask her any questions about the Geiko traditions, rules, expectations etc. She performed a couple of dances for us. We then got a chance to take pictures with her. The night was not only interesting but fun. Highly recommend this tour.
Our guide Seina had great energy and made us feel comfortable. She took us to Izakayas that gave laid-back vibes with delicious food. We helped to make tasty takoyaki and was introduced to Japanese food we haven't eaten before.Lastly, we visited a hidden gem of a bar where we tried some of Osaka's local delicious alcohol. Seina was friendly, knowledgeable and funny. She also shared cool stories about Osaka’s culture and history.
Kosuke was an amazing guide, filled with the bits of knowledge about everything, didn't shy away from a multitude of questions from the group, was patient and good spirited the entire time. You'll be lucky to get him as your guide! Feels like you get an Arashiayama overview without feeling rushed, seeing the highlights of the area. If you want to take more time, it ends early enough that you can stick around the area for more. Well worth it!
We engaged Andy for a morning shoot with our toddler, and I’m pregnant. He was so patient and also brought a small toy to entertain our son who amazingly did not fuss too much under the Kyoto summer heat! Our photos were beautifully taken, and he planned the route’s meticulously to be kids friendly and pregnant friendly, pretty much a challenge. At the same time, we learn so much from him about the local culture and lifestyle too.
This was a wonderful walking tour. Our guide, Moeka was professional and extremely knowledgeable about the imperial palace grounds as well as its history. It was great to have a guide who spoke such great English and was also able to answer a lot of the cultural questions we had as first-time visitors to Japan. When the tour was over, she even gave us a great recommendation for Udon at Tokyo Station. Would recommend!

Questions Before You Book?
What is your cancellation policy?
Most experiences can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before the start time, giving you the flexibility to plan with confidence. Cancellation policies vary by experience — please check the individual tour page for full details before booking.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards including Visa, Mastercard, and American Express, processed securely through our booking system. Bank transfer is also available upon request. Payment is collected at the time of booking confirmation.
How far in advance should I book?
Some experiences can be booked as little as one hour before the start time, so feel free to reach out even on the day. That said, popular tours and peak season dates fill up quickly — we recommend booking at least one month in advance to secure your first-choice date and time.
Are tours private or group?
It depends on the experience — we offer both private and small-group tours. You can check the format on each individual tour page before booking.
Can you design a custom experience for our group?
Yes. Tell us what matters to you — slowmornings, craft sake, obscure neighborhood photography, multi-generational family travel — and we’ll shape the day around that with a guide who fits. Most of our best experiences started as a conversation.
